This paper focuses on evaluating the influence of cutting parameters on the energy consumption of CNC machines when high-speed rough milling (HSRM) of alloy steel SKD11 after heat treatment (55HRC). At the same time, the problem is to find the optimal cutting parameters to ensure the minimum energy consumption through the particle swarm algorithm (PSO). The conditional optimization problem is bound to limit the values for the variables and limit the objective function. The experiments are carried out based on the level 2 orthogonal experimental method. The regression equation describing the relationship between the cutting parameters and the energy consumption of the CNC machine is built based on the experimental results. The research results show the reliability of the regression equation and serve as the basis for the calculation of cost reduction when high-speed milling of alloy steel after heat treatment.
